In this edition, EasyPC Training has refreshed its training venue and is now offering new computer training courses. And find out how much time wasted on the internet is costing.

New training courses

Computer Essentials is a full day course that combines Windows XP and Internet Explorer version 7 in a great package for computer beginners. (Available in March 2008.)

MYOB Day-to-day is a full day course and includes sales, purchases, banking, reconciliations. (Available now.)

EasyPC Training is also making the transition to Microsoft Office 2007 applications.

Basic level courses in Excel 2007 and Outlook 2007 will both commence in April 2008.

Refurbished training venue

During February and March our Stones Corner training venue is being refurbished.

19 inch flat screen monitors have been installed to provide better ergonomics, visual quality, more desk and less glare.

The kitchen area and facilities are also being refurbished.

Overall, the improvements will provide a fresher and better training experience for EasyPC Training customers.


Training room hire

You can hire a modern, newly refurbished, air conditioned computer training room from EasyPC Training.

The training room has:

  • 10 PCs running Windows XP and Office 2003 products
  • 19" flat-screen monitors
  • Data projector
  • Whiteboard
  • Tea, coffee and snacks

Room is available Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm.

Cost: $500 (plus GST) per day. (No half day bookings available.) More...

Optimize Windows for better performance

Many programs are designed to load automatically when Windows starts up.

Software manufacturers often set their programs to open in the background, where you can’t see them running, so they’ll open right away when you click their icons.

That's helpful for programs you use a lot, but for programs you rarely or never use, this wastes processing power and slows down the time it takes Windows to finish booting up.
